Sister Amy Taylor celebrates in ceremony her commitment to FSPA

Write down the vision. This is what Sister Amy Taylor saw as she contemplated and prepared for the renewal of her vows—a ceremony that took place on Wednesday, June 4, in Mary of the Angels Chapel. She processed down the aisle with her companion sisters, Sisters Fran Browning and Ronalda Hophan, toward her fourth year of incorporation.

Sisters Ronalda, Amy and FranSister Linda Mershon was there to welcome her and the FSPA community to the new phase of Sister Amy’s faith. “Today is yet another special day in the life of the community of the Franciscan Sisters as Amy once again commits herself to our way of life.” She compassionately welcomed Sister Amy: “You’ve become very dear to us in these past years of your incorporation. We’re proud and happy to continue to walk with you as you prepare for final vows.”

Sister Jean Michael Treba offered a reading, Habakkuk 2:1-4, chosen by Sister Amy to convey her feelings of vowed foresight. “I will stand at my guard post ... I will keep watch to see what he will say to me.” The Scripture continues: “Then the Lord answered me and said: ‘Write down the vision and make it plain upon tablets so that the one who reads it may run. For the vision is a witness, awaits the appointed time; a testimony to the end.’?”

As Sister Amy stood on the altar of her community, once again committing herself to them, Sister Linda said, “In the name of all the Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration, I joyfully accept your vows. Be assured, Amy, of the love, respect and gratitude of your sisters for you and your life as an FSPA.”
