Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration Mission and Vision

Mission and Vision

Mission Statement

We are a community of vowed Franciscan women centered in Eucharist, committed to be loving presence through prayer, witness and service.

We are Catholic sisters. We are vowed Franciscan women centered in Eucharist. Our mission is to be loving presence through prayer, witness and service. We are dedicated to sharing life in community, which centers us in prayer and deepens the meaning of our consecrated life– the vows of poverty, consecrated celibacy and obedience that we profess.  We are inspired to bring the love of Christ that we encounter in the chapel out to the world.  We are dedicated to responding to the needs of this time as we accompany all who face systemic inequities and as we provide a compassionate presence and give witness to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Our work is as varied as our talents and interests.

Unity in Diversity

True to our Franciscan Calling, we commit ourselves to building Christ's Kingdom of justice and peace. We continue our efforts to preserve and nurture God's creation, to increase social and global consciousness, to educate ourselves to political awareness, and to encourage action to effect change where necessary. - Unity in Diversity #40

A Revolution Through Encuentro

These provocative movements represent much of our work during our mission assemblies, A Revolution of Goodness (2018) and A Revolution Through Encuentro (2022). Our work for 2022-2026 is guided by our commitments to:

Relationships
We build bridges of relationships that stretch us to be people of encounter who stand with all suffering in our Earth Community.

Gospel Living
We are freed through joyful Gospel Living to be transformed in love and goodness for community and mission.

Unity in Diversity
We celebrate authentic unity in diversity by challenging our white privilege and working toward equity and inclusion of all.

Collaborations

As Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration have moved together with others in many collaborative efforts, our mission and values—derived from our Franciscan and Catholic heritage—have been extended to others. Our network extends from the neighborhood that surrounds our motherhouse throughout the United States and beyond. Today, we collaborate with partners including Leadership Conference of Women ReligiousFranciscan Federation, Seeding a Legacy of Healing partners, and more. Our collaborations continue in the areas of justice and peace and ecospirituality.

Modern Lives. Sacred Traditions.

Proudly joined in the FSPA mission and ministry are our affiliates, prayer partners and our partners in sponsored ministries. Members of FSPA minister all around the globe. Explore Perspectives Magazine to catch a glimpse of our ministries.
