St. Rose Convent

St. Rose Convent is a home for sisters and corporate office for Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration. We share space with the Franciscan Spirituality Center. St. Rose Convent is located at 912 Market Street, La Crosse, Wisconsin. 

Executive Secretary

We are seeking a full-time (30-40 hours/week) Executive Secretary to join our team at St. Rose Convent. 

In this position you will provide administrative support for the FSPA Leadership Team and others as requested.  We are looking for a customer service oriented individual with a can do attitude, as well as:

  • Excellent computer skills, in particular Microsoft Office (Word, Publisher, Excel and Powerpoint) as well as database management experience
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills 
  • Willingness to work as a team member on tasks and projects
  • Ability to manage multiple projects

Previous administrative experience is preferred. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. Includes full-time benefits package.

Liturgy Administrative Assistant

We are seeking a Liturgy Administrative Assistant to join our team at St. Rose Convent.  In this part-time position (20 hours/week), you will provide support for the St. Rose Liturgist.  Please see the attached job description for additional information.

We are looking for someone who has:

  •  Strong computer skills
  •  Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
  •  Ability to learn quickly
  •  Working knowledge of Roman Catholic liturgy and music ministry preferred

Part time Food Service Aide

This is a great position for anyone looking for 6-10 hours per week. Hours during the week are 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.; Sundays and holidays are 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Schedules are flexible with opportunities to pick up additional/longer shifts. 

Duties include:

  • Preparing the cafeteria line for meal service
  • Carrying trays for sisters
  • Cleaning up after meal service, including wiping down counters, washing dishes, etc.

Human Resource Intern 

This is an opportunity to be involved in a wide variety of experiences — work with several committees including safety and employee events, policy research and development, market wage research, assist with benefits administration, filing, general administrative duties, and assisting with culture change as we renovate St. Rose Convent and prepare to merge with the Villa. There are over 200 employees between the two facilities.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • A commitment to customer service and the ability to interact with a wide variety of people
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask

This is a paid internship requiring 10-12 hours per week worked between St. Rose Convent and the Villa St. Joseph. The schedule is flexible and can be adjusted during final exam weeks and other times directly related to school. Length of the internship is open.

Villa St. Joseph 

Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration staff working at Villa St. Joseph, our skilled-care retirement home, provide relationship-centered care to retired sisters. Villa St. Joseph is located on St. Joseph Ridge, 11 miles east of La Crosse, Wisconsin. Our staff here are involved in the project to renovate St. Rose Convent which will eventually become home for all sisters and the primary location for all staff. 

Registered Nurse or Liscensed Practical Nurse:  

Full-time: 1st shift (6:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m., includes every other weekend and holiday.)
Part-time: 1st shift

PHILOSOPHY:
In executing all duties and responsibilities of the job description, the employee shall be expected to advocate and foster the physical, psychological, emotional, spiritual and social well-being of all individuals in accordance with the healing ministry of the Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration at Villa St. Joseph.

JOB SUMMARY:
The nursing process of assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating is the basis for all care delivered by the registered nurse. The registered nurse is accountable for the delivery of direct care and for supervising the nursing care provided by professional and ancillary nursing personnel.  The registered nurse assesses and plans in collaboration with the patient/support person and the interdisciplinary health care team to meet the educational and discharge needs. The registered nurse provides care for the elderly residents of the Villa St. Joseph.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS:

  • Must have current registration to practice professional nursing in Wisconsin.
  • Must have at least 1 year of related work experience and possess basic leadership skills. May negotiate if previously employed as a licensed practical nurse in a geriatric setting.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English.
  • Must be able to safely perform the essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.

Certified Nursing Assistant or Nursing Assistant:   

Certified or non-Certified welcome to apply.  Full-time and part-time opportunities available which includes working every other weekend and holiday. Starting wage is $15 for CNA and $14 for NA with no prior experience.  

Day shift is 6:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
PM shift is 2:30 p.m. - 10:30 p.m.
Night shift is 10:30 p.m. - 6:30 a.m.

Full-time: 1st and 2nd shifts
Part-time: 1st and 3rd shifts

A member of the health care team who, under the direct supervision of the Registered Professional Nurse and/or Licensed Practical Nurse assists residents with daily cares in order to maintain the highest degree of dignity, safety and independence.

Dietary Aide/cook: Part-time

Full-time, with benefit package, working 6am-2pm, 30-40 hours per week, which includes every other weekend and holiday.

Part-time, working 3:45-6:45pm, 2-3 evenings per week plus every other weekend and holiday.

JOB SUMMARY:

A member of the health care team who plans and organizes time, material and staff to enable the preparation and serving of nutritious, wholesome food which adheres to diet therapy requirements, as well as being appealing to the eye and palate.

  • One to two years of commercial cooking experience preferred. On the job training may be substituted.
