Ecospirituality Project Outreach Coordinator (see full job description)

Come join the Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration mission and ministry.  We are seeking a person with a love of Earth and a Franciscan heart to serve as the Ecospirituality Project Outreach Coordinator. 

If you have:

  • B.S. in Horticulture and/or Education
  • Understanding of Franciscan Stewardship and core values and a willingness to learn and teach others about “care for creation”
  • Prior experience with organic gardening, greenhouse and orchard practices 
  • Demonstrated collaborative managerial/leadership abilities in supervising, planning, organizing, administration and community relations

then you might be the person we are looking for to fill this full-time (30-40 hours per week) position based near La Crosse, Wisconsin.

Some of the responsibilities include:

  • Manage the acre FSPA organic garden, greenhouse and orchard
  • Recruit, train and supervise volunteers, service groups and undergraduate interns for garden/greenhouse work and research projects
  • Lead tours for groups as requested
  • Do presentations, workshops, etc. to help others learn about organic gardening, greenhouse and orchard practices, FSPA Land Ethics, etc.

Integral Ecology Director (see full job description)

We are seeking a full time (40 hours/week) Integral Ecology Director to join our team at St. Rose Convent.  In this position, you will facilitate the commitment of the FSPA to care for the earth. 

As a hands-on, collaborative leader, you will provide practical congregational direction in all facets of the FSPA ecological ministry including coordinate multiple land-based enterprises such as ecosystem restoration and woodland management, implement land stewardship plans; foster a culture of environmental sustainability through communication and education and develop and maintain relationships with outside entities.  In addition, you will be the resource person to all FSPA partners in ministry, providing practical advice and support.

You should have:

  • An advanced degree related to sustainability, including natural resources and agriculture or equivalent of education and experience.  You should have both academic and practical experience in ecology and leadership.
  • Ability to inspire and facilitate change.
  • Understanding of environmental policies at the local to federal to global level.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities in supervising, planning, organizing, administration, and community relations.
  • Ability to exercise a high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion and independent decision making to achieve program objectives.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to create relationships.
  • Ability to and willingness to travel.

Director of Mission Integration (see full job description)

Come join the Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration mission and ministry.  We are seeking a person with a Franciscan heart to serve as the Director of Mission Integration. 

If you have:

  • Knowledge and understanding of the FSPA story and associated ministries and the ability to articulate Catholic/Franciscan identity
  • Educational background in communication, human services, religious studies or equivalent of education and experience,
  • Demonstrated organization and coordinating skills and
  • Demonstrated interpersonal/relational skills in communication, collaboration, and group process

then you might be the person we are looking for to fill this part-time (20 hours per week) position based in La Crosse, Wisconsin.

Some of the responsibilities include:

  • Plan, implement and coordinate programs and activities that further the mission, philosophy and values in the FSPA sponsored ministries and collaborative ministries, including the Spirituality Centers, St. Rose Convent and Villa St. Joseph. 
  • Promote Catholic identity and Franciscan values in these ministries. Collaborate with ministry offices (i.e. Affiliation, Peace and Justice, Mission Advancement, Prayer Partners, Human Resources) to achieve and support common goals regarding mission.

Villa St. Joseph 

Villa St. Joseph is a skilled-care retirement home owned by Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration. The Villa is located on St. Joseph Ridge, 11 miles east of La Crosse, Wisconsin, on Highway 33. the land that surrounds the Villa was initially purchased as a farm to produce food for St. Rose Convent and the then St. Francis Hospital. The present day structure is comprised of three wings and is home to approximately 70 sisters.

Registered Nurse:  

Full-time Days
Day shift is 6:15am-2:30pm

PHILOSOPHY:

In executing all duties and responsibilities of the job description, the employee shall be expected to advocate and foster the physical, psychological, emotional, spiritual and social well-being of all individuals in accordance with the healing ministry of the Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration and Villa St. Joseph Retirement Home.

JOB SUMMARY:

The nursing process of assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating is the basis for all care delivered by the registered nurse. The registered nurse is accountable for the delivery of direct care and for supervising the nursing care provided by professional and ancillary nursing personnel.  The registered nurse assesses and plans in collaboration with the patient/support person and the interdisciplinary health care team to meet the educational and discharge needs. The registered nurse provides care for the elderly residents of the Villa St. Joseph.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS:

  • Must have current registration to practice professional nursing in Wisconsin.
  • Must have at least 1 year of related work experience and possess basic leadership skills. May negotiate if previously employed as a licensed practical nurse in a geriatric setting.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English.
  • Must be able to safely perform the essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.

Certified Nursing Assistant or Nursing Assistant:   

Day shift is 6:30am-2:30pm
PM shift is 2:30-10:30pm
Night shift is 10:30pm-6:30am
