Liturgist

In this full-time (30 – 40 hours/week) position you will oversee all aspects of the Eucharistic Liturgies and other sacramental and prayer services in a Franciscan community. This position will include some evening and weekend hours.  

Responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate music/liturgy for one weekend liturgy
  • Prepare worship aides for Sundays, feast days and other special days
  • Schedule Sunday/weekday Liturgies, train liturgical ministers, direct the Schola, and prepare cantors

We are looking for an energetic, caring individual who has:

  • Three to five years of experience with Roman Catholic liturgy
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Music and/or Liturgy
  • Strong music skills and the ability to play the organ/piano preferred
  • Strong communication and organizational skills

Ecospirituality Intern

This part-time internship supports the organic garden located at the Villa St. Joseph located on St. Joseph Ridge, eleven miles east of La Crosse on Highway 33.  The gardens not only produce abundant, high-quality fruits, vegetables and herbs but they also serve as educational models in the community.

You must be able to work in all weather conditions, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform repetitive tasks.  You must also be able to work quickly, follow instructions, work with others, and pay attention to details.

You would:

  • Harvest of a large variety of mixed vegetables and fruits
  • Assist with planting, weeding, field clean up, mulching, row covers, and other tasks around the garden, greenhouse and orchard as needed
  • Assist with washing, culling and packing produce as needed

Preferred education:  Completing coursework in a field that may include dietetics, community health, environmental science or other related field.

This position requires 10-15 hours per week (with the possibility of more depending on availability). Schedule is flexible and can be adjusted during the semester as it relates to school. Occasional evening and a rotation of every other weekend will be required. The position is seasonal and will end by December.

Executive Secretary

We are seeking a full-time (30-40 hours/week) Executive Secretary to join our team at St. Rose Convent. 

In this position you will provide administrative support for the FSPA Leadership Team and others as requested.  We are looking for a customer service oriented individual with a can do attitude, as well as:

  • Excellent computer skills, in particular Microsoft Office (Word, Publisher, Excel and Powerpoint) as well as database management experience
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills 
  • Willingness to work as a team member on tasks and projects
  • Ability to manage multiple projects

Part time Food Service Aide

This is a great position for anyone looking for 6-10 hours per week. Hours during the week are 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.; Sundays and holidays are 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Schedules are flexible with opportunities to pick up additional/longer shifts. 

Duties include:

  • Preparing the cafeteria line for meal service
  • Carrying trays for sisters
  • Cleaning up after meal service, including wiping down counters, washing dishes, etc.

IT Intern

This opportunity at ST. Rose Convent lets you do many different things — maintain personal/business computers, printers, security systems and phones (including cell phones). Run audio and visual equipment including live streaming, help off-site personnel via remote support software, and assist with building-wide systems updates as we renovate St. Rose Convent. In addition, you will be working with others to troubleshoot problems and develop solutions. 

We are looking for someone who has:

  • A commitment to customer service and the ability to interact with a wide variety of people
  • Excellent troubleshooting and computer skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Patience working with a broad range of technical know-how

Preferred education:  Actively working towards an Associate or Bachelor's degree in an IT related field.

This paid internship requires 12-15 hours per week. Schedule is flexible and can be adjusted during final exam weeks and other times directly related to school. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required. Length of the internship is open.

Villa St. Joseph 

Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration staff working at Villa St. Joseph, our skilled-care retirement home, provide relationship-centered care to retired sisters. Villa St. Joseph is located on St. Joseph Ridge, 11 miles east of La Crosse, Wisconsin. Our staff here are involved in the project to renovate St. Rose Convent which will eventually become home for all sisters and the primary location for all staff. 

Registered Nurse or Liscensed Practical Nurse:  

Full-time: PM shift
Part-time: Day shift

PHILOSOPHY:
In executing all duties and responsibilities of the job description, the employee shall be expected to advocate and foster the physical, psychological, emotional, spiritual and social well-being of all individuals in accordance with the healing ministry of the Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration at Villa St. Joseph.

JOB SUMMARY:
The nursing process of assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating is the basis for all care delivered by the registered nurse. The registered nurse is accountable for the delivery of direct care and for supervising the nursing care provided by professional and ancillary nursing personnel.  The registered nurse assesses and plans in collaboration with the patient/support person and the interdisciplinary health care team to meet the educational and discharge needs. The registered nurse provides care for the elderly residents of the Villa St. Joseph.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS:

  • Must have current registration to practice professional nursing in Wisconsin.
  • Must have at least 1 year of related work experience and possess basic leadership skills. May negotiate if previously employed as a licensed practical nurse in a geriatric setting.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English.
  • Must be able to safely perform the essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.

Certified Nursing Assistant or Nursing Assistant:

Dietary Aide/cook: Part-time

Full-time, with benefit package, working 6am-2pm, 30-40 hours per week, which includes every other weekend and holiday.

Part-time, working 3:45-6:45pm, 2-3 evenings per week plus every other weekend and holiday.
