New prayer partners join eucharistic adoration ministry

FSPA recently welcomed eleven new prayer partners to their ministry of perpetual adoration; eight were commissioned in Mary of the Angels Chapel on Nov. 13.

Glori Albino is originally from Puerto Rico where she was a lector and sang in her parish choir. A graduate of St. Thomas University in St. Paul, Minnesota, Glori previously worked in Oregon and is now employed at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. She will be praying with us on Wednesday evenings at 6 p.m.

Frederick Ellis is from Onalaska and worships at St. James the Less Parish in La Crosse. He is a home-care giver in La Crosse and is a member of the Serra Club, the Knights of Columbus and the Secular Franciscans. Fred will join us in prayer on Fridays at 10 a.m.

New prayer partnersKatharine Felsheim, a former FSPA, attends St. Joseph the Workman Cathedral. She and her late husband raised 10 children; Katharine also worked as a teacher and librarian. She will be praying with us at noon on Thursdays.

Heather Henry attended the University of Iowa and now lives in Hokah, Minnesota, with her husband and five children. She has led yoga retreats at the Franciscan Spirituality Center and teaches yoga at Integrative Therapies. Heather will join us for adoration on Tuesdays at 4 p.m.

Shirley Huhn, an FSPA affiliate, worked in the dietary department at the Villa. She and her late husband had four children, three are living. Shirley worships at the San Damiano Chapel and volunteers at Mayo Clinic Health System-Franciscan Healthcare and the Franciscan Hospitality House. She will pray with us on Mondays at 4 p.m.

Sandra Huppert Johnston and her husband David have five sons; they attend Roncalli Newman Parish. Sandy is active in a weekly prayer group, serves as a eucharistic minister and at Catholic Charities. She is related to the late Sister Vivian Huppert and the Gutting sisters. Sandy prays with us on Fridays at 6 p.m.

Ilene Kernozek and her husband Tom have two children. Ilene works in banking at Trust Point. She has been a member of the Congregation Sons of Abraham, and will pray with us on Mondays at 7 a.m.

Mary Lella is a member of Blessed Sacrament Parish. She is a Viterbo University graduate and serves on the alumni board. Mary recently retired from a nurse management position at Gundersen Health System. She will be praying with us on Thursdays at 7 a.m.

Ruth Olson, a Viterbo University graduate, raised three children and worked as a counselor in Vernon County for many years. She is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and will join us in prayer on Saturdays at 8 a.m.

Thomas Smith and his wife Elaine are the parents of five children. Tom, who is from Chicago, moved to La Crosse from La Crescent this past summer. He works as an engineer on the railroad and will pray with us as his schedule allows.

Eileen Temte has been a volunteer at St. Joseph the Workman Cathedral for many years. She taught biology at University of Wisconsin-La Crosse for nearly 30 years. Eileen lives across from St. Rose and will join us for adoration on Saturdays at 10 a.m.
