Sister Eileen advocates for compassionate immigration reform

Franciscan Sister of Perpetual Adoration Eileen McKenzie serves migrants through the Kino Border Initiative in Nogales, Arizona, and Nogales, Sonora, Mexico. In light of growing challenges at the border, Sister Eileen continues to advocate for migrants, particularly regarding Arizona’s Proposition 314, which seeks to prohibit border crossing outside official entry points.

"They are already fleeing from very fearful situations," and that Proposition 314 "just creates another fearful environment." Sister Eileen shares, "This isn't the answer."

While recognizing the frustration with the current immigration system, Sister Eileen urges for reform based on compassion and justice, rather than unfair measures.
