“Whatever gift you have, whatever thing you can give of yourself, that’s what you do for God. And Thea did that all of her life,” said Sister Cora Marie Billings in the article “Saint Joseph’s Names New Residence Hall After African American Educator, Evangelist and Social Justice Advocate.”

The Catholic institution in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, held a recent ceremony to announce the naming of the new campus residence hall. Sister Cora Marie, a St. Joseph’s honorary degree recipient of the university, gave remarks about Sister Thea, “a contemporary and lifelong friend …” who was “always giving back to God and God’s people.”

The new residence hall for first-year students is scheduled to open its doors in the fall of 2025.
