Interfaith Peace Prayer Service: March 15 (hybrid)

Interfaith Peace Prayer Service: March 15 (hybrid)

During this tumultuous time in the Middle East and in Iran, we hear Pope Leo when he says, “Stability and peace are not achieved through mutual threats, nor through the use of weapons, which sow destruction … but only through reasonable, sincere and responsible dialogue.”

Together with La Crosse-area faith leaders, we invite everyone to an interfaith Peace Prayer Service.

Sunday, March 15, 2026
4-4:45 p.m. CT

Peace begins in prayerful hearts willing to be transformed. In a time when violence and grief weigh heavily on our global family, let’s gather as neighbors united across traditions. Stand with us in solidarity, lament, hope and courage.

Statements of note

Pope Leo's weekly address, St. Peter's Square, Sunday, March 1, 2026
"Faced with the possibility of a tragedy of immense proportions, I make a heartfelt appeal to all the parties involved to assume the moral responsibility of halting the spiral of violence before it becomes an unbridgeable chasm."

Franciscan Action Network (Facebook)
"As followers of Jesus in the footsteps of St. Francis of Assisi, Franciscan Action Network urges our U.S. political leaders to stop the bombing and war."

Pax Christi USA
"These attacks by the US and Israel are catastrophic – they will profoundly undermine any attempt at diplomacy and peacebuilding. We pray for an end to the violence, a cessation of the bombing, and for an embrace of nonviolent solutions."
