In loving memory: Sister Patricia Gordon

Franciscan Sister of Perpetual Adoration Patricia Gordon died on July 11, 2025, at the age of 94 and in her seventy-fourth year of religious profession, at St. Rose Convent in La Crosse, Wisconsin. She was born in Spokane, Washington, where she attended Marycliff High School, met FSPA and boarded a train to La Crosse, professing first vows in 1951. She had a passion for learning, both as a teacher of primary, secondary and undergraduate students in Spokane, Wisconsin and Oregon, and as a religious educator in Spokane, Nevada and California. She also served the FSPA community as director of formation, leader of the Western Region, director of Clare Franciscan Spirituality Center (in Spokane, where she then served as a spiritual assistant to the Securlar Franciscans) and proofreader for the FSPA Communications Department. Sister Patricia, with her gentle smile, is fondly remembered as a fervent fan of Spokane’s Gonzaga University “Zags,” an English teacher at heart and a seasoned, global traveler.
