In a tribute to 175 years of prayer, witness and service, FSPA proudly presents Sister Karen Kappell as Artist of the Month.
Sister Karen, born in Appleton and raised in Kaukauna, Wisconsin, is a woman of artistic talent and spiritual insight. She holds a Master of Arts from the University of Wisconsin-Superior, with a concentration in ceramic sculpture. She has ministered at Marywood Franciscan Spirituality Center in Arbor Vitae, Wisconsin offering programs that beautifully integrate spirituality and art.
Sister Karen's artistic range spans various mediums, such as fiber and paper art, ceramics sculpture, painting and drawing. Her work, displayed throughout galleries in the Midwest, touches and inspires many with her unique perspective and talent. Sister Karen continues to guide workshops and programs at Marywood, where she finds inspiration.
