Pope Leo XIV to Lead Global Event for Climate Action: Highlights support for climate action among 1.2 billion Catholics

Pope Leo XIV will lead a global event to mark the tenth anniversary of the Laudato Si' encyclical together with a host of high-level leaders from the realms of civil society, science and policy. This is anticipated to be Pope Leo XIV's first major statement on climate change and environmental protection.

The event will highlight the importance of moral leadership on climate from the spiritual leader of one-sixth of the world's population.

Pope Leo XIV will inaugurate the conference with a celebration of hope for our common home, as Laudato Si' continues to inspire people who are transforming the world.
