Iverson Freking Award Luncheon

For 39 years, the Bethany-St. Joseph nursing homes in La Crosse have honored community members with the Iverson Freking ecumenical award. Recognizing area residents for setting a spiritual example and helping the community, the awards this year go to Sister Laura Nettles and Marta Martinez. The awards are given out in memory of Lutheran businessman Carl Iverson and former Catholic Bishop Frederick Freking. About 90 people have received the honor since it was first given out in 1987.
