The Compassion Graffiti Project is a co-creation process facilitated by Lutheran Campus Ministry - La Crosse (LuMin) and the Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration. This project is part of "A Season of Faithful Witness" campaign — a Catholic movement unfolding across the U.S. that FSPA is joining alongside Catholics everywhere, rooted in mercy and love and calls communities to uphold the dignity of every human being. The project honors LuMin’s core values of working for peace and justice in all creation and welcoming and celebrating all people in their unique intersectional identities.

The co-creation of the project includes the participation of all three institutions of higher education in La Crosse: Western Technical College, Viterbo and the University of Wisconsin - La Crosse. At each campus, an art canvas is displayed with the prompting question. Students have the opportunity to respond to the prompt through expressive art. At the conclusion of the project, each campus has the opportunity to have its canvas accompany the Franciscan Spirituality Center’s “Justice and Peace Stations of the Cross” walk throughout the city of La Crosse. At the conclusion of the event, a photo will be taken with all three canvases, and then each canvas will be returned to its school to be publicly displayed.
