Employment Opportunity - Ecospirituality Intern
Position location: FSPA land on St. Joseph Ridge
15-20 hours per week
We are looking for someone who is interested in learning more about sustainable and regenerative gardening techniques to work in our garden located on FSPA land on St. Joseph Ridge, eleven miles east of La Crosse on Highway 33. These gardens not only produce abundant, high-quality fruits, vegetables and herbs but they also serve as educational models in the community.
You must be able to work in all weather conditions, lift up to 50 lbs and perform repetitive tasks. You must also be able to work quickly, follow instructions, work with others and pay attention to details.
You would:
- assist with garden preparation, planting, weeding, field clean up, mulching, row covers and other tasks around the garden, greenhouse and orchard as needed,
- harvest a large variety of mixed vegetables and fruits and
- assist with washing, culling and packing produce as needed.
Preferred education: coursework in agriculture, dietetics, community health, environmental science or other related field
This part-time position pays $15.00/hour and requires 15-20 hours per week (with the possibility of more depending on availability). The schedule is flexible and can be adjusted during the semester as it relates to school. Occasional evenings and a rotation of weekends will be required. The position starts May 1 and works through November.
