How do I navigate my changing role as daughter? Meet Sister Laura. [video]

By Sister Amy Taylor, FSPA on Friday, May 24th 2019

Welcome to another Show me a sign video premiere! And, welcome into our celebration of 170 years! FSPA was founded May 28, 1849 and we’re celebrating by introducing you to Sister Laura.

Show me a sign continues to introduce you to Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration who share the joys and struggles they experienced in personal relationships as they walk their own pathway of discernment.

You met Sisters Lucy, Sarah, Dawn and Jacinta.

Today, meet Sister Laura.

“I’m the only daughter of Carol and Ed Nettles … I’m an assistant professor at Viterbo University … I am a bass player in a band … I am a Franciscan Sister of Perpetual of Adoration … I am a Ph.D. candidate,” begins Sister Laura. “Community supports the balance … they are the folks who tell me to take time for myself. Community encourages me to have a life outside of religious life.”

Are you discerning religious life? Walking with someone who is? Connect with membership@fspa.org to receive the Show me a sign newsletter in your inbox (just four times per year) and to learn more about hosting a Show me a sign event!
