Catholic Sisters Week, March 8 to 14, 2020, "shines a light on the spirituality, mission and community building of women religious." FSPA is proud to serve among them.

Here are three opportunities for you to celebrate religious life with us:

1. Join FSPA in Mary of the Angels Chapel on Sunday, March 8, as we welcome Catholic young adults to worship. The event is sponsored by Dubuque Area Vocation Association as part of a nine-week liturgical pilgrimage to celebrate Mass with different religious communities Sundays from Feb. 2 to March 29, 2020.

2. Experience "Stories of Spirit & Heart: Conversations with Catholic Sisters," Wednesday, March 11, at Catholic Theological Union (2nd floor, multipurpose space, 5461 South Cornell Ave., Chicago, Illinois). Some of our sisters living and ministering in the area will be there to share their own experiences. Go to catholicsistersweek.org to learn more about the event.

3. Listen to Sisters Eileen McKenzie and Laura Nettles share their Lenten prayer practices and "tugs" to religious life in the podcast "A Chat With Sisters" that recently aired on the La Crosse, Wisconsin, radio show Connecting the Diocese. "Something about Franciscan spirituality captures you," says Sister Laura, sharing her experience about visiting other communities when she was discerning religious life. "Wonderful, wonderful faith-filled women, but something just didn't quite fit. When my spiritual director said, 'Have you thought about Franciscans?' it just clicked."

And we invite you to celebrate religious life every day with FSPA, a community of vowed Franciscan women centered in Eucharist, committed to be loving presence through prayer, witness and service. Interested in exploring religious life with us? Click here.
