Video premiere: vocations and family conversations

We know that considering life as a Catholic sister today can be met with lots of questions, both for the woman contemplating vows and for her family. And that’s why we've added a video series to our Show me a sign guide for discerners.

In the Show me a sign series premiere, “What if my family doesn’t agree with my choice?”, Sister Lucy Slinger sits down with her sibling and speaks candidly about the family reaction.

“I’ve seen her change and grow … since she’s been a sister. It’s nice to see her settle in and be more at peace with herself. It’s been a beautiful process to see,” said Eileen, Sister Lucy’s sibling.

Throughout the next several months, women discerning religious life (and anyone walking with these women) will meet four more Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration who share the joys and struggles they experienced in personal relationships as they walked their own pathway of discernment. Their stories are intended to help discerners looking for ways to build bridges of conversation with family and friends.
