“Something deep within one’s heart opens and leans forward and asks ‘Do you mean me?’” writes Sister Amy Taylor, FSPA, in her book review, “Cistercian nuns deliver insight, inspiration,” published in the Winter 2021 issue of HORIZON, the Journal of the National Religious Vocation Conference.

HORIZON has now been honored by Catholic Media Association for its “Book notes” feature “to which [Sister Amy] contributed” with that review, her experience of reading the book “Northern Light: The Cistercian Nuns at Taura Mariakloster.”

"Northern Light, published by Cistercian Publications/Liturgical Press, 2020

“Northern Light,” writes Sister Amy, “chronicles the story of a fledgling new Cistercian foundation in Norway, dreamed into existence by the hearts of women nestled in their mother house along the Mississippi River.” And it “encourages us,” she shares, “to enter the stillness of our hearts to listen as Jesus once again invites us to come and follow, to see the miracles of everyday life, to come and be in the stillness of prayer and the silence of contemplation.”
