Laudato Si' Week activities: make a plan
We were all called to "hear both the cry of the earth and the cry of the poor" by Pope Francis, when he issued Laudato Si', on May 24, 2015. Five years later, given the tremendous challenges we face in light of COVID-19, his encyclical’s teachings are more relevant than ever. We are called to support and rebuild our global community whose social, ecological, and economic fabric have been devastated.
The theme for Laudato Si’ Week is “Everything is connected.” It stresses our interconnectedness as a global community and the need for solidarity across borders. This month, let us reflect together on the gifts and insights of Laudato Si’ amidst our current crises, pray as a global family on the Global Day of Prayer, May 24, 2020, and prepare to bring Laudato Si’ to life during Season of Creation and beyond.
