In Loving Memory of Sister Rita Mae Fischer

Franciscan Sister of Perpetual Adoration Rita Mae Fischer passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, June 4, 2003, at the age of 94. Her high school experience of visiting St. Rose Convent and the Adoration Chapel and her love of St. Francis of Assisi led Sister Rita Mae to live a religious life of 74 years that included ministries of teaching and library science. With “a love of adventure” who “grabbed onto ever opportunity to explore and learn something new,” Sister Rita Mae also traveled to serve in Mexico, Mississippi and New Orleans in many different ministerial capacities.
