FSPA celebrates "The Glory of Birds"
You are invited to the fifth Lunch & Learn of the Eco in Action 2021 series, “The Glory of Birds," presented virtually from noon to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, May 11, by Therese Cummiskey and Diane Porter of Jefferson County, Iowa. We will explore the amazing beauty and diversity of birds — God's great creations — including some of the birds that we can enjoy right outside our windows.
Registration is required to participate in this free, virtual event.
Therese Cummiskey retired in 2019 after 30 years as a naturalist with Jefferson County Conservation in Fairfield, Iowa, where she taught all ages about the wonder and joy of creation. She has been honored by the city for her dedication in instilling a love of nature in multiple generations. Therese has been a nature lover since she was a child and an avid birder for the past decade.
Diane Porter is a naturalist, educator, lecturer, writer and photographer. She is an author with more than 100 articles about wild birds published in national magazines and speaks at birding symposiums and other venues. Diane and her husband are their love for birds, photos and essays at birdwatching.com.
And join us every second Tuesday of 2021 to experience Ecospirituality in Action Lunch & Learn series offerings. This series is an opportunity to explore FSPA's commitment to ecological education, one of the seven Laudato Si' goals and A Revolution of Goodness proclamation made to stretch us to be people of encounter who stand with all suffering in our Earth Community. Each Lunch & Learn will feature new topics of ecological advocacy presented by speakers who will inspire us to care for all of creation. Stay tuned for your invitation to upcoming Lunch & Learn events. Register and reserve your seat at the table.
