Eco Advocacy 101: Faith Groups in Action
Join FSPA on June 8 from noon to 1 p.m. CST for the sixth Lunch & Learn in the Eco in Action series: “Eco-Advocacy 101: Faith Groups in Action," presented by Toni Langowski. Toni, a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse with a degree in political science, will guide us in exploration of opportunities for community involvement and participatory action to care for creation at local, regional and national levels — even from our own homes.
Please register to participate in this event.
Toni's experience in ecological advocacy includes a service learning internship for which she worked with FSPA Integral Ecology Director Beth Piggush. In this position, Toni championed awareness of sustainability and the significant role of the Catholic Church in ecological advocacy while sharing the ecolgoical teachings of Pope Francis.
Sponsored by our ecospirituality committee, this series is an opportunity to explore FSPA's commitment to ecological education, one of the seven Laudato Si' goals and A Revolution of Goodness proclamation made to stretch us to be people of encounter who stand with all suffering in our Earth Community. Each Lunch & Learn, presented the second Tuesday of each month throughout 2021, will feature new topics of ecological advocacy presented by speakers who will inspire us to care for all of creation. Watch for information about upcoming sessions, and visit fspa.org/EcoAction to enjoy the first five offerings of the series.
