St. Francis' Legacy: An Enchanted Evening at Rotary Lights

As the festive season unfolds, there's one event in La Crosse that stands out, weaving together history, tradition and a warm sense of community: The Rotary Lights Display. This year, on Dec. 10, the event takes on a profound significance as it becomes Franciscan Night at Rotary Lights, commemorating the 800th anniversary of the very first crèche, a beloved creation of St. Francis of Assisi.

The park will be bathed in a special glow that evening, with Franciscans taking charge to ensure every visitor has a memorable experience. Among the shimmering lights, Viterbo University's 9th Street Singers and other choirs will uplift spirits with their harmonies from 5:30p.m.to 6:45p.m. You’ll also see St. Francis and St. Clare walking the grounds extending the warmth of Franciscan hospitality to visitors.  And as a token of gratitude and remembrance, every attendee will receive a keepsake—a tangible link to the rich history of the crèche. Don't let this exceptional evening pass you by; immerse yourself in the timeless traditions that bring us all closer together.

This event is a part of the 800th anniversary celebration of the crèche. Click here to view a complete list of events.
