Paint the Nativity: A Community Mural
12/04/23 - 12/15/23
From Dec. 4-15, the Franciscan Spirituality Center invites everyone to be part of an extraordinary project that connects art, faith and community. In celebration of the 800th anniversary of the first nativity scene created by St. Francis of Assisi, a special 12-by-5-foot community mural awaits completion. Designed by artist Paul Oman, “For Unto Us a Child is Born” is a paint-by-number mural that aims to capture the divine essence of that first Christmas.
Open weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., with additional hours on Mondays and Thursdays from 5-7 p.m., the center warmly welcomes individuals of all ages and skill levels. No registration is required and all supplies are provided. Here, each brushstroke is more than pigment on canvas; it's a collective expression of faith and a tribute to a spiritual legacy that still resonates today.
