St. Nick's Boot: you joined us in giving
St. Nick's Boot was back for Christmas 2017! This year, the boot helped three La Crosse-area non-profits who serve our brothers and sisters with mental health issues.
Community fills St. Nick's Boot well beyond wish lists
If the loot in St. Nick’s Boot this year is any indication, the spirit of Christmas is alive and well in our community. The giant boot was stationed outside the La Crosse Center this month, serving as a gift repository for people living with mental illness this holiday season.

Boys & Girls Club
Final week for St. Nick's Boot! And for Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater La Crosse, "Community members are invited to purchase items from the BGC’s wish list and deposit them in the giant red boot outside the La Crosse Center, providing the club with things like balls, art supplies, fidget toys and playing cards to keep the boys and girls having a good time."

Family & Children's Center
“Kids communicate through play,” said Ryan Knutson, a professional counselor at the Family and Children’s Center. “Getting a kid to sit down on a chair and do therapy is very difficult. This is a resource we can use to help them get talking.”
The Play Therapy Room serves an important role in the Family and Children’s Center youth outpatient program, which, along with the organization’s adult outpatient service, will benefit from St. Nick’s Boot, a charitable collaboration sponsored by the Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration and the La Crosse Tribune."
Family & Children's Center is looking for Kimochis books, Edushape Feelings Friend plush toys, bags of sand for the sand table, six ounce of larger bottles of bubbles with wands, pinwheels, 100 piece puzzles, Duplo Legos, clay or Play-Do and shoe box size plastic bins.
