Prayer request ministry featured in Tribune

Sister Sarah Hennessey professes final vows
Sister Sarah Hennessey recently sat down with a reporter from the Owatonna People’s Press and talked about her vow ceremony. “When I made final vows, I really realized this is forever. I’ve known it for the last 12 years, but that was like ‘Wow, this is really happening,’” she said.
Sister Eileen featured in Coulee Region Women
The La Crosse area’s magazine for women, Coulee Region Women, spotlights women’s health at every age in its October/November 2011 issue. Inside, Sister Eileen McKenzie’s acupuncture practice is featured. In Acupuncture For All, Sister Eileen shares the story of her journey to FSPA that ultimately led her to practicing acupuncture in La Crosse. La Crosse's Gerard Hall celebrates 75th anniversary
Sister Leclare Beres joined staff from Mayo Clinic Health System – Franciscan Healthcare to celebrate the 75th anniversary of La Crosse’s Gerard Hall. The event honored the FSPA, especially the now deceased Sister Yvonne Jenn, for opening the “outlet for unmarried pregnant women.” Read the La Crosse Tribune article.
After the tornado, sisters and affiliates assist their La Crosse neighbors
Kudos to affiliate Mike Schnitzius, a Disaster Action Team volunteer with the Scenic Bluffs Chapter of the American Red Cross, who was pictured in the May 26, 2011 La Crosse Tribune. Mike was pictured handing out hot chocolate to people in the Cook St. neighborhood where Sunday's tornado hit hard.
Kudos to Sister Kathy Stuttgen and affiliate Michael Krueger who assisted La Crosse residents affected by the Sunday, May 22, tornado.

FSPA’s grammy influence
Sister Marcella Steffes was mentioned in a recent La Crosse Tribune article: La Crosse native wins Grammy. Sister Marcella is credited as Grammy winner Karen Kim’s violin instructor through Viterbo’s preparatory arts school. Karen started violin lessons at age four and Sister Marcella was her first teacher. Karen Kim, a La Crosse Central High School graduate, plays violin with the St. Paul-based Parker Quartet, which won the Grammy for best chamber music performance with its recording of George Ligiti’s first and second string quartets.
