GATE (Global Awareness Through Experience) has been offering educational trips to Central America and Eastern Europe for more than 20 years and currently offers three categories of alternative tourism:

• Our Immersion Program acquaints the participant with the cultural, political, economic, and religious climates of El Salvador, Guatemala, Mexico, Eastern Europe, Oaxaca and France.
• Our Franciscan Pilgrimage in Mexico allows the traveler to see historical sites and the present reality through the eyes of Francis of Assisi.
• Our Women's Spiritual Quest tours in Mexico, Guatemala and Eastern Europe examine the goddess tradition in the locale and then explore the female divine in our lives today.
