The herons of La Crosse

Franciscan Skemp Healthcare asked Sister Carlene Unser to paint one of the two herons it is sponsoring as part of the Pump House Regional Arts Center’s public arts project. The completed heron is currently being displayed outside Franciscan Skemp's CAMS building in La Crosse.

According to a La Crosse Tribune article, the project is an attempt to increase the visibility and public awareness of art and promote the community. It also celebrates the 30th anniversary of the Pump House as an arts center.
