SUN sponsors radio spot
For the second year in a row Sisters United News
(S.U.N.) of the Upper Mississippi Valley received a national best practices
award for one of their collaborative public relations projects. The project,
a 30-second radio spot, urged voters to bring civility and tolerance back into
the 2004 election cycle.
The ad was created, written and produced by S.U.N. members who had a shared
concern about the strong negative tenor of the 2004 political campaign. The
best practices award given by the National Communicators Network for Women Religious
(NCNWR) is designed to showcase communications excellence. S.U.N. is comprised
of communicators of 13 religious congregations of the Upper Mississippi Valley.
FSPA are among the founding members of S.U.N.

Radio Spot Content
Background sound: Children on playground fighting
Adult female voice: TIME OUT! STOP!
Some adults are squabbling like kids these pre-election days. Whatever
happened to civility and tolerance? Respect for others' ideas? It's time
we focused on issues instead of insults.
Be informed! Make it YOUR business to learn the facts, vote accordingly,
but respect your neighbor's choice as well.
This message brought to you by area Catholic sisters.
