Bishop John Paul gives chalice to FSPA
FSPA members gathered in Mary of the Angels Chapel on Jan. 17 to welcome a dear friend. On that day, Bishop John Joseph Paul, Bishop Emeritus of the La Crosse diocese, gifted a personal chalice to the congregation. The chalice presentation took place in conjunction with a brief prayer service which included traditional FSPA music. Bishop John Paul was ordained a priest in Mary of the Angels Chapel on Jan. 24, 1943. He was appointed Auxiliary Bishop of La Crosse in 1977 and Bishop in 1983. The chalice was originally given to Bishop John Paul on the occasion of his 60th anniversary as a priest. During the prayer service Sister Marlene Weisenbeck, FSPA president, gave Bishop John Paul a photo of the Adoration Chapel and a copy of the book commemorating 125 years of perpetual adoration.
