Responding to the needs of today's world

Sisters Laurette and Marla in Zimbabwe

The Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration seek to offer hope and service in responding to the needs of today's world. Upon invitations from a bishop or an organization, the congregation encourages members to go where they have never been before—to risk for the building of Christ's kingdom. Recognizing needs outside the United States and having background in education, health, and spirituality, the community calls forth members to share these resources with people of other lands.

Sisters have journeyed to China, Guam, El Salvador, Marshall Islands, Mexico, Zimbabwe, Canada, and Cameroon. FSPA share skills and information to enable the local people, and the local people share their culture, enriching the sisters and helping us see a larger world picture. This work illustrates the value in diversity and the need for unity as we all belong to the family of God.
