Sister Thea Bowman included in church painting

According to an article in the Jan. 21 Idaho Statesman, St. Mary's Catholic Church, Boise, Idaho, is unveiling a painting at the dedication of its newly remodeled church. The article states that the painting, The Adoration of the Christ Child, "…is not the conventional scene of Mary and Jesus surrounded by male saints. Instead, mother and child are surrounded by 18 women from across the history of the church, from Eve to Sister Thea Bowman, a contemporary African-American woman."
